Meet Pam our Management Accountant

We present to you Pam Davies our Management Accountant, from our finance team.

We decided to ask her a few questions – even some festive ones! What’s more she even donned her fabulous Christmas jumper for the occasion! So please meet our Management Accountant Pam… perhaps we can even now claim ‘By Royal Appointment’?

What’s a typical day in working in Accounts?

Busy, busy! No one day is the same. Which is how I like it.

Why numbers – what’s the attraction?

Well I have always been more interested in numbers than wordy stuff all through school, so when I left school and wasn’t sure what it was I wanted to do, my mum suggested I try the AAT (Association of Accounting Technician’s), as she thought it would be something I would be interested in. I enrolled at Hereford Technical College for AAT level 2 and really enjoyed it so that’s how I got into it really.

Christmas is coming, what’s on your wish list of presents for this year?

I love to have new clothes, shoes and bags so their always on my wish-list, ha, ha!  I also really want the new Adele album but might not wait until Christmas for that one!

Do you have a ‘must do’ tradition each December?

We always have to have a comedy night and watch the new stand-up comedy DVDs; Michael McIntyre being one of our favourites. Also we do usually get the monopoly board out on Xmas night when we are all stuffed with food and drink!

Which film or song gets you get in the festive mood?

Cheesy I know but I do love an Xmas song! Mariah Carey’s All I want for Christmas usually gets stuck in my head the most, so you will probably catch me wandering around whistling away to it!

Have you met anyone famous, if so how did this come about?

I’ve never met anyone famous, but I did see the Queen when she came to our High School.

Where will you being doing your Xmas shopping this year?

I’m off to New York before which I am mega excited about! I haven’t ever been to the States before, so I can’t wait. I’ll be doing most of my Christmas shopping there, which is a bit risky as it will be leaving it really late to get it all sorted. I am also really looking forward to seeing all the Xmas lights and decorations as from what I have seen on-line – it looks like it is going to be amazing!

What are you looking forward to most in 2016?

Most of all I am looking forward to making wedding plans for early to mid 2017. But also we are hoping to have puppies with our Boxer in the New Year which I am also really excited for, I just need to make sure I don’t try to keep them all!

What did you last laugh out loud about?

Probably watching “I’m a Celebrity”, you’ve got to love a bit of Ant & Dec on TV!

Thank you to our favourite Management Accountant.
